Power Flush

Power flushing involves the cleansing of radiators, boilers and associated pipework of black oxide sludge caused by the corrosion in a heating system.

GFP have invested in the latest flushing technology, designed to give you a more effective system cleanse, while at the same time save you money. See below for details of the new magna cleanse technology.

Magna Cleanse

Traditional power flushing involves pumping gallons of water round your heating system, using a specialist machine, and then dumping it down the drain. While very effective, it is incredibly time consuming and wasteful (Gallons of water are used). GFP have invested in the latest Magna Cleanse technology. Not only does this clean your heating system much more effectively, it is also much quicker, meaning that cost is significantly reduced and as the same water is re-circulated round the system, saves on your water bills as well.

We will also fit a magna clean filter to the system at the same time, ensuring that your boiler is kept free of black oxide sludge for the rest of its working life.

Prices start at £299 (no vat to pay), which includes 10 radiators. Additional radiators are charged at £30 per radiator, and include a magna clean filter*. Please call for pricing on systems larger than 20 radiators.

  • This price is based on a 22mm magna clean, which is suitable for most domestic heating systems. If a larger 28mm magna clean is required please add £60.00 to the price.
  • You may need a powerflush if you have any of the following symptoms.
  1. Cold radiators. If radiators are cold at the top then this may just be air in the system. If they are cold at the bottom, this is usually due to poor circulation caused by sludge forming at the bottom of the radiators. This is specifically what a power flush is designed to remove.
  2. If you have a noisy boiler, ie an appliance that is “ketteling” (much the same noise as a kettle been boiled), or an appliance that is banging, this is usually due to sludge or limescale build up in the heat exchanger. In all but the most extreme cases powerflushing will remove these deposits, not only vastly improving efficiency, but also extending the life of your appliance significantly.
  3. High gas bills. Sludge blocking heat exchangers will cause two problems. It will insulate, meaning that more of the heat from the hot flue gases will escape through flue, and also reduce circulation, meaning that the boiler will be operating at much higher temperatures. This means that your boiler will have to work harder to achieve the same results, burning more fuel resulting in higher energy bills.
